An Introduction to the Renard Family
We are truly honoured and thankful to be carrying forward the traditions that Arctic Lodges, and Kelly and Andrea, have built over the years. We understand this is a very special place for many people, and we look forward to getting to know the guests and families who have made Arctic part of their lives.
Coming from Hatchet Lake Lodge to Arctic Lodges, we have kept a simple philosophy — focus on enhancing the guest experience through fantastic customer service and a personal touch. We want Arctic Lodges to feel comfortable, welcoming, and effortless, while still delivering trophy fishing at its finest.
We look forward to welcoming everyone to Reindeer Lake and continuing the traditions that make Arctic Lodges so special.
Our History
The Renard Family Continues The Legacy
Layne and Shanelle Renard took over the legacy of Arctic Lodges. Growing up fishing across lodges as a child Layne grew up with a love for the Canadian fishing lodge lifestyle.
Layne and Shanelle saw the unique experience Arctic Lodges offers and wanted to build on the legacy the Littlechilds and Lockharts built over the 50 years.
The Modern Lodge Expansion
Kelly and Andrea expanded out the experience at Arctic Lodges with 6 new modern lodges with beautiful arch windows overlooking the lake.
Kelly & Andrea Littlechilds
In 2014, Kelly and Andrea Littlechilds took over full operations—continuing a legacy built on stewardship of the land, exceptional service, and unforgettable fishing.
Ray & Jan Littlechilds
In the 1980s, conservation officer Ray Littlechilds served on Reindeer Lake, where he befriended the lodge’s original owners, Fred (late) and Linda Lockhart, and dreamed of one day having a place here. That dream became reality in 2003 when Ray and his wife Jan (pictured left), together with their son Kelly, purchased Arctic Lodges from the Lockharts.
Arctic Lodges Begins
In the 1950's Fred and Linda Lockhart started Arctic Lodges with a dream of creating the greatest fly-in fishing lodge on their favorite fishing spot in the world on Reindeer Lake.
